Above the Earth, and a pull to Mars

At that time my physical life was full of stress. I was dealing with problems at work, and moving from South Korea to Ireland. I hadn’t wanted to go on many deep explorations out of the body, and I wasn’t holding any particular aim to achieve anything in the astral. So when I found myself flying above the Earth, I simply bathed in the beauty of our planet, in a kind of peaceful meditation.

I was hovering above the Earth, seeing the expanse of the stars above and this beautiful blue planet below, which we call home. This is always a moving and transformative experience, and a very beautiful memory to hold. As I speak about it now I can still see and feel it, and I recall it to keep the greater whole in mind, especially when I’m struggling in my life.

You are space

When you visit space in the astral, you are in touch with its astral counterpart, not just the physical, third-dimensional aspect that astronauts go out to see. You are not just a visitor. You feel space and understand it from within, from your being. In those moments, you are space.

If you pay attention there, you may notice a certain quality in space. It is known by many names; I know it most commonly as Akash. Just as there are the four elements in nature, fire, water, earth and air, there is also a fifth, Akash, from which all the elements derive.

Floating there in that ecstasy and love for our Earth, I understood acutely that it is our consciousness that keeps us on the ground here. To travel beyond the Earth in the astral body takes a certain level of detachment, especially from the collective consciousness, which anchors us to this dimension. As you ascend you will often meet new energy fields. If you can’t resonate with them, or you become fearful or overwhelmed, you usually won’t be able to continue. You might bump into an imaginary wall, or end up back on Earth somewhere you feel safer.

Once you are in space, the intelligences and vibrations that enter your awareness feel totally different. Each planet has an entirely different energy field, and it is very noticeable.

Fighting the pull

I stayed there meditating for probably too long, and I felt a pull to go back down to Earth. I was enjoying being above the Earth so much that I began to fight against that pull. I wanted to stay. I don’t usually tell people to fight against natural sensations. But if you fight with all of your faculties, without any hint of inner conflict, then you are really calling upon your willpower. As I created that focused tension to stay in space, all the energy seemed to concentrate, and then it blasted me to another planet: Mars.

The planet of willpower

This has happened a few times, when I have willed something very strongly in the astral, with a lot of struggle: I find myself taken to Mars. Each planet is not just a planet; it is better to see each one as a being with its own energy field. To me, Mars is truly and clearly a planet of willpower, a planet of force, of fighting, perhaps the positive aspects of war, and perhaps the negative ones too. If cosmic warriors were to live anywhere in our solar system, I feel it would surely be Mars. There is a power on Mars that is defiant, fierce and direct. I seem to go there whenever I am trying very hard to fight against something, as I did once when I wanted to get out of a situation where I saw a negative entity.

Why I go

Going into space is one of my favorite things to do. I don’t do it often, but when I do, it is always a deeply joyful experience. We tell ourselves we can’t go into space, because being an astronaut is far outside our usual dream of ourselves. But instead of watching astronauts and looking at telescope pictures, anyone can go to space directly, and not only go there, but comprehend what they see at a very direct and intimate level.

Once you expand your understanding beyond Earth consciousness, beyond the narrow collective consciousness of humanity, you can travel beyond the Earth in the astral body too.
