The Course
Knowledge that is lived, not believed
Gnosis means knowledge, but not the kind that is learned from books. It is what you come to know by your own direct experience. The tradition of Gnosis is a way of coming to know it: a psychology for seeing yourself as you are, practices for awakening consciousness, and a map of the inner life from its first steps to its last.
This course walks the whole of it, in order. It begins with self-observation and the present moment, the many selves that live in us, and the three steps by which each one dies. It turns to the human being as an instrument: the chakras and their vowels, the five centers, the three foods. It widens to the Tree of Life, the seven ages of a life, and the one religion behind every religion. And it goes on into what an introduction never reaches: death and the life after it, return and recurrence, the four paths, the seven bodies, the creative energy transmuted, the elementals, and initiation.
Every lesson ends in a guided practice that puts the teaching into the body, and each week adds a new one to the last.
First we have to discover who we are not and then we begin to discover who we are.
To embody the truth is more important than experiencing the truth.
The Journey
Twenty-two lessons, seven movements
From the first question to the restoration of the light within. Each lesson gives one teaching, and one practice to carry into the week.
The Foundation
- 1
Creating the Container
What Gnosis means, knowledge lived rather than believed, and why self-knowledge comes first. Personality, essence and ego, and the four pillars: science, art, philosophy and mysticism.
A guided journey into stillness
- 2
Objective Seeing
Ego and essence as shadow and light, the many selves, and the seven capital sins as an inner country. Why the ego is seen without judgment.
Self-observation
- 3
The One Moment, Here and Now
From Plato’s cave to the four states of consciousness: how identification makes us forget ourselves, and the key of SOL, by day and inside dreams.
Into the present moment
- 4
The Psychological “I”
The ego as a legion of false selves, each vice hiding a virtue, and the three steps: to see it, to comprehend it, and to ask the Divine Mother to dissolve it.
Death in the march, and the morning seal
The Human Instrument
- 5
Sound, Light and Heat
The three forces of creation, and why the words we speak shape a life. The seven chakras, the virtue each one asks for, and the faculty it opens.
The vowels, and the heart’s O
- 6
The Human Machine
The five centers: how to notice which one is running, how to rest it, and why dreams are an unconscious review of the day.
The evening retrospection
- 7
The World of Relationships
How we relate to the body, the world and ourselves: the three foods of food, air and impressions, and others as mirrors.
A pranic exercise with colors
The Wider Map
- 8–9
The Way and the Life
The cross of the two lines, time and being: outer life as a reflection of the level of being, and letting go of personal history.
Releasing the difficult moments
- 10
The Tree of Life
The laws of three and seven, and the Ten Commandments read from within: the power of the word, and the quiet ways we take what is not ours.
Contemplating each commandment
- 11
The Seven Ages of a Life
What schools fail to teach, and a life read in seven-year stages, each under a planet, from the Moon of early childhood onward.
The Rune FA
- 12
The Universal Religion
One thread through every religion, and the same Divine Mother under many names. Conscious prayer, and why embodying truth matters more than experiencing it.
A blue flame in the heart
Life, Death and Return
- 13
Evolution, Involution, Revolution
Nature’s twin laws of rising and falling, and why only a revolution of consciousness frees us. The three factors: death, birth and sacrifice.
The boat toward the sun
- 14
The Ray of Death
What happens at death, step by step: what stays behind, the reviews of a life, the weighing of karma, and how to help those who have died.
The breath like the wind
- 15–16
Return and Recurrence
Why most of us return rather than reincarnate, one life repeating itself, and karma and dharma as an inner account that can be settled.
The temple of justice
The Way

The Four Paths
The fakir, the monk, the yogi, and the way of balance. Impressions, the conscious shocks, and the eight steps for dissolving an ego.

The Elementals
The living consciousness in stones, waters, winds and flames, and the same four elements within us, each with its shadow and its virtue.
The four elements
- 21
Initiation
Initiation as life lived consciously: the guardian of the threshold, the trials of the elements as they come in dreams, and the three mountains.
Surrender, through the bodies
- 22
Restoration
The closing lesson: preparing the vehicle for the light within, through love, the word, sacrifice and faith. With the circle’s farewell.

Questions
Before you begin
Is this for beginners?
Yes. It begins from the very first question, and its first half is the foundation of the whole tradition. The second half goes on into its deeper teachings, one step at a time.
How is it different from the free course, Awakening Gnosis?
The free course gives the map in seven classes, with each practice tasted once. This one walks the whole tradition in twenty-two lessons, with a new practice every week that builds on the last, and goes on into death and return, the seven bodies, the creative energy and initiation.
Are the students’ questions included?
No. The classes were taught live, and the students’ questions and answers are left out, out of respect for their privacy. What remains is the teaching itself and every guided practice.
How long is it?
Twenty-two lessons in twenty-one recordings (two pairs of lessons were taught together), about twenty-four hours in all. Take one a week, as the group did, or walk it at your own pace.
Some lessons speak about sexuality.
Two lessons speak frankly about the creative energy as a spiritual practice: its transmutation for those who are single, and the alchemy of the couple. They are for adults, and taught with care.
When was it taught?
Live on Zoom, to an international group, from the autumn of 2025 into early 2026.
Where do I watch?
In the Astral Doorway app, on your phone or computer. The app is free, and it installs straight from your browser: there is nothing to find in an app store.
What is the refund policy?
Enrollment is non-refundable. The moment you join, the whole course is in your hands. So before you enroll, feel into it honestly, and if any question would help you decide, write to me first at gene@genehart.com.
No one who genuinely longs to walk this path will be turned away for the want of money. If you are sincere but truly cannot meet the cost, write to me at gene@genehart.com in a few honest sentences. I read these letters myself.
One step, and then the next
The path is not walked in a day, and nothing here asks to be believed. Take one lesson, live with its practice for a week, and see for yourself. Then the next.
