The highest teachings are wordless.
This course has no lectures and no techniques. One hour every Sunday, we sit together — I in the temple in the mountains of Cebu, you wherever you are — and I guide, from the heart, in the moment, through eight gateways into the Illuminating Void.
Each session opens with a koan and a few minutes of plain teaching. Then comes the long meditation. Each week opens one doorway from the great traditions — Zen, Dzogchen, the Taoist and Toltec seers — spoken once, in plain words, and then entered directly. This is not relaxation. It is what Zen calls the great matter — life, death, and liberation — sat with directly, in a voice gentle enough to carry you there.
It is audio only, live in the Astral Doorway app. Every session is recorded and kept. Questions are available after the live sessions, in the app.
Beyond every concept
What is the Illuminating Void?
Any answer would be a step away from it. Call it a space, and you have already made it something. Call it a state, and the mind begins to reach for it.
So I can only point. It is what remains when every concept falls silent: before thought, before time, before the one who meditates. Not darkness, and not light as the eyes know light. Not a technique, and not the reward at the end of one. Beyond meditation itself, beyond even the idea of samadhi.
It is nothing. And out of that nothing, everything comes. In the Gnosis of Samael Aun Weor it is called the Illuminating Void: the pure source, empty of every form, and full of a light that needs no lamp.
You cannot reach it. You can only stop standing in its way. That is what we will do together, one doorway at a time.

I teach from the temple in the mountains of Cebu, in the Philippines, where a retreat center is being built around it on the same mountain. For over sixteen years I have been exploring one question from the inside: what is this awareness that is awake right now? I am the author of Beyond Dreaming and Sealing the Vessel, and the voice of the Astral Doorway channel on YouTube.
The old word for being home is presence, and presence, I must tell you now, is the entire secret.

Before you sit
Do I need any experience?
No. Beginners are welcome, because the depth here is carried by the voice, not by technique. The further you have traveled, the further this goes.
Is this astral projection?
No. That was The Astral Doorway Course. This is meditation: sitting with the great matter, directly.
Do I need the app to join?
The course lives inside the Astral Doorway app: the live sessions, the recordings and the book. The app is free, and it installs straight from your browser. Join here, then sign in to the app with the same email, and your course will be waiting.
What if I can't make the live hour?
Every session is recorded and posted in the app afterward, and it is yours to keep. Listen whenever you can.
Is there a community, or questions and answers?
Not during the sit. Before each session the room opens with a chat, so you can greet the others. When the bowl sounds, the chat closes and we sit. After the live sessions, you can ask me a question in the app, in Questions for Gene: owning the course includes it.
Can I pay monthly?
The course is a single payment. If the price stands between you and the course, write to me.
I took the Astral Doorway course — is there a different price for me?
No. Everyone pays the same: $97 while the opening places last, then $147. I'd rather keep it simple than keep two prices and a list.
What is the Astral Doorway app?
Where do I listen?
In the Astral Doorway app, on your phone or computer. Headphones help. Keep the app open during the sit — the screen dims and stays awake.
Are there refunds?
If you change your mind within 14 days of buying, you'll be refunded. After 14 days the course is non-refundable. If any question would help you decide, write to me first.
What happens after the eight weeks?
The sitting doesn't end with the course. A weekly live sit with me follows it; it isn't a course, and I'll say more when the eight weeks are done.
