Your Life Under the Stars

A book of one life, written for you alone.

About 40 pages, from the sky at the hour you were born, read through the old systems, joined where they agree, and written in the voice of an elder speaking to you. Not a horoscope, and not a prediction: a keepsake you can read again at every age.

  • More than 40books written since it opened in October
  • 4.7 of 5from 12 readers who gave it stars

What you receive

What the book is

You type a name, a birth date, a time and a place. The chart is worked out from the real sky, and a book is written from it, in about half an hour. It waits for you in the app as a PDF, yours to keep.

  • The sky is calculated, not guessed. The chart is worked out and checked against the real sky; the book is written from that chart, and every placement it names is checked again.

  • Written to you, not about you. With counsel at the end of every chapter, rather than flattery. It reads a life; it never foretells one.

  • Yours to keep. Twenty-two chapters, a contents page you can tap, and every figure in an appendix at the back, so you can check it.

The systems it reads

  • Western astrology
  • The Vedic sky
  • Your Chinese animal
  • Numerology
  • Human Design
  • The Gene Keys
  • Your birth cards in the Egyptian Tarot
  • The places on earth where your chart is strongest

What Readers Wrote Back

After each book, Gene asks its reader how it was: did it feel true, and what felt wrong. Here is every answer so far, counted honestly.

4.7 of 5

the average of the 12 readers who gave it stars

  • 5 ★9
  • 4 ★2
  • 3 ★1
  • 2 ★0
  • 1 ★0

15 readers have written back, through the app’s feedback form or by email.

For 14 of the 15, it landed. For one, it simply didn’t, and that’s fine: no book speaks to everyone. We’d rather tell you than leave it out.

One gave three stars. That reader’s rising sign sits on the last degree of its sign, and the book counted the houses one off from the astrology sites they knew. The book now gives both counts in that case.

A page from Sean’s book

What you will not easily do is say the warm, unguarded sentence at the moment it is needed, because the close square between your Moon and your Venus puts the feeling and the expression at an angle to each other, and because Saturn sits on your Mercury and checks every word. You feel it. You cannot always find the door for it.

“Multiple lines instantly resonated with me, unveiling aspects of myself I hadn’t fully comprehended before.

The accuracy was shocking. It has brought to light multiple things that before were hardly noticed, and now are obvious.”

Sean

“What this book offered me was a new perspective: a new way of looking at these systems and understanding how they relate to my human persona.

The part that really stood out to me was right at the very beginning: ‘The first book belongs to the reader who is fascinated… The second belongs to the reader who is skeptical.’

This perspective is incredibly important to bear in mind when we use tools like astrology, and I really appreciate it being at the forefront of the book.”

Christopher

“The best things for me were being told things I knew at a deep level, but seeing it written down brought it to the surface and made it more real and clear.

Many truths that I’ve written down and put a tick next to them.”

Tracy

“It described everything I didn’t realize I was trying to be!”

Claire

“These accuracies really helped validate the authenticity of the reading.

My husband likes to talk on the phone with his friends, like a philosophical discussion once a week, and it said that he benefits from having conversations on the phone and that I should allow him to have that. This is very specific. Same with our three-year-old son: the description of his strong will, and an example of him running out the door without shoes on, is precisely what we live with almost every day.”

Steph G. · A family book

“This book put words to some things that I knew were true but couldn’t always name.

Honestly, this book was so meaningful to me. I’m just grateful.”

Dona

“I feel seen!

I know I will re-read the book, which is a deep well of insight. Thank you for putting it together!”

Patty

“The description of our household dynamics was spot on!

I really, really like the ‘rules for the house.’ I read them to my husband, who doesn’t believe in any modality like this, and he agreed they were useful. Helpful parenting advice too, customized to our daughter’s personality. Honestly, it was so accurate!”

Lucy · A family book

“It was very thorough and eye-opening — unfortunately, it was also very true!

It put me at ease that all the stuff I’ve been fighting against all my life is just a part of the system I was born into, so now I can work with it and around it.”

Charles

“The book of my life under the stars is amazing.

It really spoke to me, accurately and deeply.”

Francisco

“I meant to read it slowly.

Instead, I read it in one sitting. I just couldn’t stop. I kept nodding as I turned the pages, and at times I cried.

Some passages put into words things I seemed to have known somewhere within myself but had never been able to say out loud.

I immediately thought of at least a dozen people in my life whom I will gift a book of their own.”

Alex · Bulgaria

What Readers Asked For, and What Changed

Every answer goes to Gene, and it shapes every book written after it. These changes came from readers.

  • Explain the systems.

Every system now has its own page in the app: what it is, what it reads in you, and where it comes from, with a small drawing.

  • One image comes back too often.

Every book now finds a fresh image for each chapter.

  • What does “an engine” mean?

Human Design words are now said in everyday terms: what each one feels like on an ordinary day.

  • My houses were counted one off.

The book counts houses the oldest way, by whole signs. When a rising sign sits late in its sign, it now gives both counts, so it matches the sites you know.

  • It said I hide my feelings, and I’m the opposite.

Anything about the face you show the world is now offered as something to check, never as a fact.

  • Could the book grow with us?

The Deeper Octave: a second book grown from your first. A reader’s idea: thank you, Steph G.

For yourself, for two, for a family

Three Kinds of Book

They are not the same book three times. Each is written about a different subject.

One person

A book of one life

About 40 pages1 credit · $17

The only book that goes all the way into one life. Every chapter is about you alone.

  • Who you are, read through every system
  • Your strengths, what will be hard, and what you need
  • Your talents and calling, how you love
  • The road of your life, age by age, and the sky this year
  • Practices fitted to you, and a long last word

Two people

A Book for Two

40 to 55 pages2 credits · $34

A book about the bond. Each of you has a short chapter of your own; most of the book is about the two of you together.

  • What brought you together
  • How you love, and where you clash
  • The masculine and the feminine in both of you
  • Your purpose together, and the years ahead
  • A way of practice for two, and a chapter on your children if you have them together

Two to six people

A book for a family

30 to 50 pages2 credits · $34

A book about the house. Each person has a chapter of a few pages; the rest reads the family as one weave.

  • Each person’s own chapter
  • What makes this family special
  • How the house fits together, pair by pair
  • Rules for the whole house
  • A way of practice for the house, and a last word
If I want all three, will they repeat each other?
Some things will echo, because the same sky is read in each. But each book is written about a different subject. Your own book is about forty pages of you alone. In a Book for Two or a family book, your own chapter is a few pages, and the rest is about the bond or the house: things your own book never reads, like how two charts meet, or the rules a family can live by.
Which should I begin with?
There is no required order: each book is written from the births alone, and stands on its own. If you want to understand yourself first, begin with your own book; it is the only one that goes all the way into one life. If what you most want to understand is a marriage or a household, that book can come first. Nothing is lost either way.
What would all three cost?
A book of your own uses one credit, and a Book for Two and a family book use two each: five credits in all. A pack of six ($69) covers all three, with one credit over for someone you love.
What is the Deeper Octave?
Once a book is ready, a “Go deeper” line under it offers a second book grown from your first: about 25 pages that walk the year ahead with you. It uses one credit, once a year for each book, for one person, a couple or a family.
